The story starts with Ramesh and Uma, a middle aged couple, living in absolutely ridiculous circumstances. They have a boathouse, right on top of the Adayar Cooum. Ramesh is a bank executive, while Uma is a megaserial actress (yes, megaserial inside megaserial!!).
One fine day, recession hits the banks. (yes, it does finally!!) Ramesh cribs to Uma about cutbacks etc etc. Then in typical Maddy style he says, "Pyaar mein cutbacks nahin hona chahiye.."
Then they make love. Soon, Ramesh loses his job. They come to the streets. They decide to sell their boathouse. When they are about to sell it, disaster strikes. Ramesh is sent to jail for tryin to sell the Adyar cooum river water along with the house, which is illegal as the Cooum belongs to the govt. There Ramesh puts punch dialogue in court saying everything smelly belongs to the govt only. This earns him a contempt of court n he is sentenced to jail life for 17 years.
The next 165 episodes show him suffering in jail. He eats fr 7 episodes, cries for 15, then breaks stones for another 35. Then slowly goes to flashback mode. He remembers making love with his first wife Rani. Yea, this guy is one sexually afflicted personality. All he remembers is making love. He also falls into a relationship wit a fellow inmate called Raja, who apparently has the same face as Ramesh. Raja exploits Ramesh fully, and before Ramesh is gonna leave jail, kills him and comes out as Ramesh.
Then he goes in search of Uma, unable to find her settles down with another female called Priya. Later he finds out Priya is Uma's daughter!! Uma's daughter? Yea, Uma is married to another guy called Raja now. And who is Raja, the same Raja who is acting as Ramesh now. And now more shock for Raja, he finds Ramesh acting as himself in his place. So, both like faced guys have the same wife!! Then he goes to Priya and tells him about he meets her mother first in a flashback spanning 77 episodes. Then he tells Priya that their marriage doesnt hold as they are father and daughter. While Priya says she is ok wit incest, but she in love now. Now comes the twist. We have a guy from the army coming in called Major.Suraj Kumar. Suraj is Neha's childhood love. And who is Neha? She is Priya. Neha was her actual name changed due to numerological reasons.. Now Priya has to choose as to who she has to marry. Raja and Ramesh are unable to let go of each other and we have another 17 episodes of absolute entertaining double action 'ga(y)iety'.
Now suddenly the two of them become enemies due to common interests in Ramesh's original property. Raja wants to usurp it all. So both try vying for Uma's support. At this juncture, without knowing what to do, Uma kills herself. Then Priya decides to take revenge for her mothers death. But Raja and Ramesh send her to jail. Suraj suddenly reveals that he has also studied law and argues for Priya and gets her out of it. Then Raj and Ramesh are sent in. They get back memories of their earlier jail life and after another 17 years, come back as old guys, while Priya and Suraj are married with two kids, both guys now. The guys are both twins. Now looking at his mom's old diary, Ramesh finds out that he had a twin brother who got lost at birth. Now Ramesh and Raj realise that they are brothers. So they decide to havoc joint destruction on Priya and her kids, and so get to work. But their sons who look exactly like Suraj, do some triple action work with Suraj to repel them off everytime. In the climax, which is a literal cliffhanger, Suraj and his sons are hanging off a cliff and they catch hold of Rajesh and Ramesh. They pull them down, and come up thereby pushing them down to the depths of death. Then they travel on a superoptic spacejet and see old memories as they go back in time.

e incest concept sahikala.......one doubt u have to explain how ramesh escaped if raja killed him, second when was priya/neha/watever was born, cos they were in jail for seventeen years, if priya was ramesh's daughter(biologically), then raja will become her chithappa(or periyappa accordingly(doubt inside a doubt like ur mega serial if they r twins then can they be called chittappa or perippa or only appa and if so do all children of twins have two appas or is it only problem in tamil)).Then when did Raja marry Uma(this is main doubt) if he had married her before goin to jail and if uma had lived in a boat house, this implies either raja could survive underwater or else else ramesh was blind. one more doubt, who can stand the stench of cooum river da and one very important doubt da "HOW CAN ONE DO ROMANCE IN THE MIDDLE OF COOUM RIVER WITH ALL THAT SMELL"? if Ramesh is capable of such a stunt then he is matter king. Finally one doubt da wat happened finally to the boat house and the recession?
