SOE okayed!!

Our SOE was okayed last night by the head of the CFI (Centre for Innovation), IITM.. What a rollercoaster ride it had been for a whole day, and the whole thing left us really tired!

Everything started off with CJR joining the B2B team, which actually was supposed to work on converting a book to Braille through a digital intermediate. By the time, Prasad, CJR and I came from Chemistry class, Vasuki and Shailesh got directions from the HOD of our department to meet Prof.Anil Prabhakar, who had apparently worked on a very similar theme earlier. We set out on search for him, and after so much of searching, we decided to put brakes at the the department canteen, where we went for a cup of tea. Then, resumed the search, where Vasuki and I went on one last search to find the prof. In vain!! We went back to the HOD, who directed us to prof. Srinivas Chakravarthy of the CS dept, which on reaching we realised there was no such prof, and he was a BT prof. That was when SK asked to go and meet Prof.RKK. This led to one huge arguement, where Vasuki was kind of literally begging about not going to meet him. After some deliberation, we decided we will not go on with it. So, it was march back to the HOD's office. On reaching the place, we found that he indeed was a BT prof, and our HOD had made a slight mistake.

We then reached the BT department, and man what a place it was. The most posh building in IITM, I must admit. The prof heard us out after offering us seats. Then he told us about how our idea was very primitive when technology was already loads advanced. But then he told us about an idea of a universal language, which could be used to output sounds from written or indicated text. The text could all be coded in a manner such that any sound could be outputted, clearly in a perfect manner, in any language (this is primitive for English), and using it could actually lead to loads of simplicity in day to day life for dumb people. Once this was done, we could work with the idea and telling Ravikanth this. This had to be done in the most immediate manner. We, after a small workout at CCD, went for the Shaastra vol treat, where all of us suddenly got to meet up with Ravikanth. He talked to us for a while and was happy with the proposal, and so okayed the SOE.

Now stands the huge task of getting the whole thing working in 8 months time. Hope the elder's blessings and all your wishes will be with us to rock it!! I have hurried through this post but at this time, this is all I am allowed to say.
Anyways,
Ill blog soon,
