It was a good movie after all. All reviews in the build up to A&D were extremely poor, and Hindu's Cinema Plus didn't help in any way. To pour more oil into the fire, in came Rajeev Masand with his typically Peterish, SSSNVR style review, giving it a thumbs down for a watch. Shre and I went with no expectations whatsoever, but we had a great time eventually. It was a blast. It was definitely a good movie, anything said and done. Tom Hanks, was back, with the same EKS hairstyle he carried for Robert Langdon in the Da Vinci Code, but still acted well enough to prove that he is an all time thala. The female who did Vittoria, wasn't seeable though. Complete jollu that female. A 40 year old lady, jolling at a 53 year old thala was the last thing we probably we wanted to see onscreen. But as long as we got to see a lady onscreen, I guess it was fine, the screen was so damn loaded with men. Hanks' intro was chanceless. Swimming in swimwear, backless, black haired surprisingly, trying to ape Phelps, and probably posing like his younger brother, he had a thala intro with someone from the papal office walkin in parallel and anti-parallel lines to him. The mention of anti reminds me. The anti matter depicted in the movie looked awesome. It looked diamond like, very similar to what one would have visualised while reading the book. Shre and I were commenting to each other through out the movie. At one point, he was like, I wanna see anti matter da macha. That got me on, I was like, Macha, I first wanna see MATTER.. :D
There was this scene where Langdon went up and down trying to screw, oops, trying to get a screw out. That scene had me in fits of laughter, and had Shre cursing me for being a pervert! Some important scenes, which would have helped a huge deal in the moving further of the movie, and also would have contributed a great deal in the financial way, were not in the movie. The Camerlengo was chanceless. He stole the show in the movie, and the powerful acting he displays will be remembered for a long time to come. It wouldn't be surprising if he bags the Oscar for the best actor in a Supporting character for this year. The movie in all definitely doesn't come anywhere near the book, but in spite of having read the book, it has you hooked to the screen throughout. It's so very gripping, probably because Dan Brown designed the story in that manner, but is definitely a movie worth a watch. A good movie I watched after a long time. Awesome stuff definitely!! :)
