Back to the topic, on a personal note, though violence should always be the last resort to society change, the entry of the country youth into socially relevant issues is of extreme importance. It might seem like me writing an English exam composition, or like me just out of having done some mugging for a Social paper. But, trust me, this topic is of huge relevance to the society, especially the country's youth, and unless the youth become socially responsible, there is no scope for improvement in the country. But what do we see in today's youth?? All we see is a tendency to throw time, reasons to bunk classes, anti-socialism, rowdyism, fan worshipping, some serious and not-so-serious flings with mates in college and school, and many other unnecessary and at times dangerous evils. This was definitely not the independence the Mahatma wanted us to enjoy. The country has the world's second largest population can definitely use its population for better uses than to create riots, cheer for politicians, cricketers and movie-stars, and of course smoke and drink. In a country of such rich legacy, such rich tradition, all we see today are leftovers going to the dogs!!
Reason?? We try to ape the west way too much!! Their culture is different, and we want to create a multicultural society where we can live a western life, smoking marijuana on the Marina beach dressed like sluts, and the westerners can live our life, learning top-class Bharatanatyam at Kalakshetra. The concept of money itself is not Indian. The initial Indian way of trade was just Barter, help for help, favour for favour. But slowly creeped in money, and god knows what fetish man has for this piece of paper called a note of money, but it has taken greed of all other things out of scope. Right from places like the Mahabharatha, it has been foreign elements which have caused the disturbance of a system, like it was Duryodhana acting on his uncle's advice causing the Kauravas' downfall, or in the Ramayana, where for starters, Ravana himself was a foreigner!! A system, left alone, is the most beneficial system its said!!
Another fact is the words of parents these days are not given the respect they ought to be given. I do not mean to say you shouldn't be argumentative, and shouldn't fight with parents and stuff like that. Discussions and Arguments with parents are welcome. I absolutely despise the people who tell me their son always argues with them and has a big mouth. But, what I mean to say is, respect your parents truly. My small point is that our life is a small journey, where we come bringing nothing, and go back taking nothing. Why do we live? God knows why we do, but we definitely can make others happy in the process of living, and especially our parents. People who've given us everything, right from birth to such a beautiful life, its our duty to reciprocate all the love and responsibility they've shown towards us and our growth. The lifetime of parents is also as equally short as ours, and in that period if we can't make them happy, what's the point? The question underlying is, Who do you live for? Yourself only?? Then your a bastard!! Your parents have lived all their life for you, why don't you bloody do the same thing? You want to study course A, your parents want you to study course B, try convincing them that A is good, else shift to B. You wanna marry A, your parents want you to marry B, just marry B!! They've given you so much, you give them atleast this much. Life is such a small period of time, and I personally feel it'll be an emotional blunder to do something very important in your life away from something your parents want you to do!! I know I've streched the thing a bit too much this week, but just my thoughts!! I'll be back blogging
Bye dada, bye jumbo!!
Ever yours,
GV/Chappli...
